Christmas Puppies!

Pee Wee, No Diapers, Really! Just My Practice At Knitting. lol

We're having a couple new batch of puppies. Both our Darby and Laney are having puppies about the first week of December. We hope that my counting skills are right. No plans for any vacations and Christmas puppies couldn't be more wonderful. The puppies will be weaned at 5 1/2 -7 weeks. Our PeeWee (our tiny runt) pictured above, was getting a bottle for a bit longer. My fault and he's now my little best friend and spoiled with toys and all his nipping behavior is now filled with lots of licking. Our Darby has 7 or 8 puppies and about half of them are reds and the last two litters had one chocolate freckled puppy and the most recent litter had a couple of dark reddish freckles. We had some reds and then of course, these blue merle tri-colored pups.

Laney has had two litters and both were all blue merle and looked similar to PeeWee in the above photo. Some puppies are without patches of blue and just like Laney; born snowy white and all change quickly with spots rising to the surface as soon as a couple weeks.

It's been a long while since we've had a new puppy for us and we've never had an inside dog. It's absolutely fun and we're blessed with lots of puppy love. He sleeps right on my feet and follows me like he's my personal body-guard. PeeWee's right there with me even when seconds before he was sound asleep and snoring. Bonded.

This cutie is from Darby's last litter and will be neutered soon.

We keep a puppy list to call when our puppies are born and also to allow for those that would like to send a deposit for docking at three days old. We can't guarantee the color that early, but our vet's really good at separating reds and blues.

We're really excited and happy that we're having pups together again. My daughter in Wyoming just bred her Queensland, too. Her Dixie is Darby's full sister and from the same litter. So if you're in that area and want a Wyoming cowboy puppy, let me know.

To all that came to our family to buy puppies, I want to thank you so much. I really met incredible people that all have such kind spirits and hearts. All of the puppies' new families are wonderful and very informed and know so much about the breed. I learned so much and I appreciate that each one of the "sweet seven" are going to have home where they are adored, loved, and exercised. Thank you so much! I can't be sad because I know they will have wonderful lives. My heart is filled with gratitude. Hugs to you all!

Doctor's Appointment: Scary For Darby & Me, too

The puppies had their first visit with the vet at Matilija Vet Clinic. All passed with excellent health and "flying colors" and even the vet wants a puppy. Now that's a compliment. She docked and removed the dew-claws as per requested by reserved puppies and thankfully she agreed with me on which little girls are going to end-up "reds". There was crying on the way home and I even heard a first "puppy bark." Sounded like, "Dang!" I know three little puppies whose rears hurt.

I've never seen a more excited mother-dog when she saw the basket of puppies coming home. Darby ran in and plopped-down on her bed and I handed-out each one for her inspection. I guess she doesn't count like I thought because she looked and nosed around twice to see if I was keeping one hidden in the basket.

a small bowl of frozen yogurt thinking how great this day had been.

Not a Surprise, But Guess What?

My daughter's family dog...the big red lab next door (in the big yellow mansion) is probably having her puppies in the next little bit. Obviously, it's the season of babies! BIG Rosa wouldn't eat today and well, that's one of the signs. I'm so excited for the big red dog and may have twelve in that big belly of hers and she can hardly walk.She's easily twice the size of Darby. Rosa was bred to a purebred red Lab and he's just as cute.

Rosa is smiling, panting, and very, very relaxed...

and all around her our three crazy Queensland's

jumping like they have springs on their feet.

I think the only word to describe Rosa,

 the red Labrador, is mellow!

We took some pictures in the middle of the night. I will have some individual photographs online on Wednesday. All separate with names so they can be seen as different puppies and labeled a male or female. Naming them is my favorite part of all this. I hate letting them go, but all past puppies have gone to the most incredible families, so I'm not really sad...just love them so much. BTW the puppies don't need to keep their name. I just do it so I can tell the difference in each of them.
